What is a Porcelain Veneer?

VIDEO TRANSCRIPTION

Dr. Cohen explains what a porcelain veneer is and the process behind it.

A porcelain veneer is a thin, high strength, beautiful piece of porcelain that is bonded to
a tooth. It is commonly used to fix a tooth that is broken or decayed, also a tooth that is
misshapen, and also to make teeth that a patient that is not happy with to look much
better. The process of getting porcelain veneers starts with the dentist doing minor
reshaping of your teeth. After that is done, we take a mold of those reshaped teeth that
are sent to the dental lab, so the lab can make the beautiful porcelain veneers that
you’re going to have. We also give the lab some information as what shade we’d like the
teeth to be, what length we’d like the porcelain veneers to be, so that the final result is
excellent.
